Signet Systems (“Signet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides white-label mobile applications and related software services for restaurants and food & beverage businesses (each, a “Client”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when:
- you visit our website or interact with Signet services (the “Services”); and/or
- you use a mobile application powered by our platform (a “Client App”).
If you are a customer using a Client App, please note: the restaurant/brand operating that Client App is responsible for its own privacy practices. This policy explains Signet’s role and practices as the technology provider.
1) Our Role: Processor vs. Controller
- Client (Restaurant/Brand) as Controller: The Client determines why and how customer information is collected and used in its branded Client App.
- Signet as Processor/Service Provider: Signet processes information on behalf of the Client to operate, maintain, and support the Client App and related services.
If you have questions about a specific restaurant’s privacy practices (marketing messages, loyalty programs, retention choices, etc.), contact that restaurant directly.
2) Information We Collect
A. Information Processed Through Client Apps (End Users)
Depending on the Client App’s configuration and features enabled, Signet may process:
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, login credentials (or authentication tokens)
- Order and transaction information: items purchased, order totals, timestamps, pickup/delivery preferences, order history
- Loyalty and rewards: points, redemptions, offers, referral activity
- Customer support communications: messages or requests submitted through the Client App
- Location data (optional): approximate or precise location if you enable location permissions (used for features like store finder, delivery radius, or location-based offers where configured)
- Device and app data: device identifiers, device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, and diagnostic information
- Usage analytics and performance: interactions within the app, crash logs, and performance metrics
Payments: Client Apps may offer payment processing via third-party payment processors. Signet generally does not store full payment card numbers. Payment information is handled by the Client’s selected payment processor(s) subject to their terms and privacy practices.
B. Information We Collect From Clients (Restaurants/Businesses)
When Clients use Signet Services, we may collect:
- business contact information (name, email, phone, address)
- administrative user details (names, emails, roles)
- billing and subscription information (processed via payment providers)
- operational information needed to configure and support the Client App (menu data, hours, locations, etc.)
C. Website Information
When you visit our website (including signetsystemsos), we may collect:
- IP address and browser/device information
- pages viewed and actions taken
- referral URLs and approximate location derived from IP
- cookies or similar technologies (where enabled)
3) How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate Client Apps and Services (ordering, loyalty, notifications, account functions)
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve performance and reliability
- Provide support to Clients and end users (as applicable)
- Communicate service-related notices (maintenance, security alerts, changes)
- Secure the Services and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
We do not sell personal information.
4) How We Share Information
We may disclose information as necessary to:
- Clients (Restaurants/Brands): so they can operate their Client App, fulfill orders, provide support, and manage loyalty programs
- Service providers/vendors: hosting, analytics, logging/monitoring, support tools, and other vendors that help us run the Services
- Payment processors: to facilitate transactions (selected by the Client)
- Legal and compliance: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights/safety, or investigate fraud/security issues
- Business transfers: if Signet is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets (with appropriate safeguards)
We require vendors to protect information and use it only to provide services to Signet.
5) Cookies and Similar Technologies (Website)
We may use cookies or similar technologies to operate our website, understand usage, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some site features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
6) Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the Services and support Clients
- meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations
- resolve disputes and enforce agreements
Retention may vary depending on Client configuration and applicable requirements.
7) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, such as access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, and secure hosting practices. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- access, correct, or delete personal information
- object to or restrict certain processing
- request a copy of information (data portability)
For Client App users: requests should generally be directed to the restaurant/brand operating the Client App, since it controls the data. Signet will assist Clients in responding to verified requests where applicable.
9) Children’s Privacy
Client Apps and Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10) International Processing
Signet and its vendors may process information in the United States and other countries where data protection laws may differ. We take steps intended to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.
11) Third-Party Links and Services
Client Apps and our website may link to third-party services or integrate third-party tools (e.g., payment processing). Those third parties’ privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
12) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the “Effective Date” above.
